Core Application Scenarios
What standards does flashlight testing comply with?
The flashlight performance test system meets T/NSDT 001-2018 LED flashlight standard and ANSI/NEMA FL-1:2009 portable electric light source standard. Measures total luminous output, beam angle, peak intensity, beam distance and more. Suitable for production and QC of flashlights, spotlights and headlamps.
What is beam angle and how is it measured?
Beam angle is the key parameter for flashlight beam divergence, defined as the angle where intensity drops to 50% of peak. The GMS-1280 goniophotometer obtains 3D intensity data via C and γ axis rotation to accurately measure beam angle, peak intensity, beam distance and total luminous output, compliant with ANSI/NEMA FL-1:2009 and T/NSDT 001-2018.
How are peak intensity and beam distance tested?
Peak intensity is the maximum luminous intensity (cd) at beam center; beam distance (throw) is the distance (m) where illuminance drops to 0.25 lux. The GMS-1280 system has a photometric range of 0.001–20000 cd and 0.2° angle accuracy, measuring total luminous output, beam angle, peak intensity and beam distance per T/NSDT 001-2018 and ANSI/NEMA FL-1:2009.
